THRILLER PLANNING | Costume Design

THE ANTAGONIST [Harry Ames] :
Will be wearing a broken down suit. As he will wear black trousers and a white suit shirt in order to create a black and white mise-en-scene without actually using a black and white filter. As well as this, he will be wearing a black tie and braces to maintain a sense of formality and adulthood without the use of an adult actor. We will use a balaclava in the scene to add a motif in the piece.

MEMBER OF ANOTHER GROUP [Ben Ambrose] :
Will be wearing a casual outfit, most likely jeans and a tee/hoodie in order to connote a relation with society - this relationship is that he fits in as does the rest of his group, unlike Harry's character. Making them binary opposites. As well as this, it could reduce the amount of formality which again could represent the lack of power and integrity of the characters.

HOSTAGE [Joe Blaxall] :
Similar to Ben, Joe will be wearing a casual outfit, most likely jeans and a tee/hoodie in order to connote a relation with society - yet will have an accessory to symbolise how his dad is on the police force. This could act as an easter egg for the audience that could hint towards the rest of the film. Firthermore, his clothes will be dirty and possibly riooed to ephisise the situation that he is in. We will use fake blood mixed with something slightly thicker in order to make the scene more realistic for the audience. Using a thickening substance will ensure thast he have more control over where the blood goes.
